CH&LA 2012 Chairman, Réne Boskoff, Receives AwardTue Mar 15, 2011
The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) announced the winners of the State Leadership Awards at their annual Legislative Action Summit held this year at the JW Marriott Hotel. CH&LA’s immediate past chair, Réne Boskoff was honored with the award for the state of California. The State Leadership Awards were created in 1998 to honor standout members within each partner state of AH&LA who help implement and strengthen programs.
Boskoff’s leadership this past year as Chair of the California Hotel & Lodging Association has guided the association to an incredibly successful year. Boskoff’s unparalleled dedication to government and legal relations in California has resulted in new legislation being passed enabling limited service properties to serve on-site beer and wine, providing a much needed revenue stream in certainly challenging economic times. Additionally, Boskoff was instrumental in the fight against the online travel companies in California, in which the association defeated in an 11th hour attempt at including a trailer bill onto the California state budget. Finally, Boskoff oversaw both the largest PAC balance in the history of the association and the largest annual contributions ever made by the association. René’s passion for government relations and volunteerism continues this year as a newly elected member of the AH&LA Board of Directors and his recent appointment to AH&LA’s Government Affairs Committee.
“On behalf of the California Hotel & Lodging Association, we congratulate Réne on yet another stellar achievement and know that his leadership within the California lodging industry will continue to be a strong influence,“ said Lynn Mohrfeld, President and CEO of CH&LA.
