CH&LA Million Dollar Mission

Next February, The California Hotel & Lodging Association (CH&LA)will proudly partner with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to define the true spirit of hospitality. This unprecedented effort will collectively raise funds to support vital research for a cure and to provide financial, educational and social services for individuals affected by blood cancer during a month-long fundraising campaign beginning February 1, 2015. The campaign goal is to raise $1,000,000.

Hoteliers across the state of California will raise funds by hosting a wide variety of fundraising activities engaging their guests and staff with one goal in mind of providing financial, educational and social services for individuals affected by blood cancer.

The California hotel community is one of the largest employers in the state and when we join forces with partners and stakeholders in creating an awareness of this campaign and the cause, we will set an unprecedented level of unity in the industry towards this important cause.

Tom Klein, Fairmont San Francisco General Manager and Regional Vice-President, CH&LABoard Member, is leading the aggressive drive. As the 2010 Man of the Year for LLS, he has graciously taken on the role of Chair for this campaign

“The guest experience is all about the human experience – being taken care of by people who care about your well-being in a nurturing and uplifting environment. It’s only natural that CH&LA supports The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society because LLS funded almost $74 million in research for 2013 alone, and in the State of California, LLS’ funding for research, patient services and advocacy is $31.7 million in 2014”.
