23rd Annual USF Hospitality Industry Symposium
Event DetailsVenue: Fairmont San Francisco Hotel Venue Address: 950 Mason Street | San Francisco CA, 94108
This year’s Symposium event will be introducing the department’s new direction to create our ‘Blue Ocean’ through our three pillars of excellence:
- Global Meetings and Events,
- Eco and Ethos, and
- Quality of Life and Well-being.
The Symposium will begin with a panel discussion comprised of experts in the area of healthy food and well-being. They will discuss: “The way we eat: implications for the food and beverage industry.” We are also excited about our luncheon keynote, featuring AirBnB founder and CEO Brian Chesky and Rachel Botsman, author of What’s Mine is Yours, addressing the topic “The rise of the sharing economy: how is it expanding the global hospitality industry?"
TIME names collaborative consumption as one of the “10 Ideas that will change the world”. FORBES just featured Brian on the cover and the recent ECONOMIST issue cover story addressed “The Sharing Economy”. So, it will be a very timely topic to explore in terms of how it will affect the hospitality industry in the long-term. Dr. David L. Jones, our Administrative Director, will moderate the discussion.
