Are you working in the lodging or hospitality field? Are you looking to jump start or expand your career? If so, you are probably
a candidate for a California Hotel & Lodging Education Foundation
Scholarship.
Q: Why get a scholarship when I could get a loan?
A: There's no debt to repay. A scholarship is free money. Also, the CH&LA
Education Foundation will not only pay for your schooling; they will help build your
career. Our association helps you network, advance, and gain visibility in the
industry.
Q: Don't think it's worth your time to apply?
A: A majority of our eligible applicants have received scholarships. CH&LAEF
has given away over $165,000.
Q: What is the evaluation process? I don't think I have a high enough GPA.
A: All our scholarships are based on merit, as opposed to an applicant's financial
need, and therefore completion of the "Financial Information" section of the
application is optional. However, if a situation arises in which two applicants
are otherwise equally qualified; financial criteria may be
considered.
