The California Association of Bed & Breakfast Inns (CABBI) is a nonprofit, member-driven trade association dedicated to promoting the B&B industry in California. Our mission is to encourage members to provide a quality-assured stay that exceeds guests' expectations. Three levels of membership are available:

  1. Bed & Breakfast Inn Membership

    Any property located within the State of California that qualifies as a "Bed & Breakfast Inn," as defined by the CABBI Membership Criteria and Standards:
    • Types of properties that area eligible for CABBI membership: Cottages, Bed & Breakfast Inns or Hotels, County Inns, Boat & Breakfast Inns, and Farm Stays
    • Breakfast is included in the price of the room.
    • Provide evidence of business license/use permit/occupancy permit, liability insurance, and payment of Transient Occupancy Tax.
    • Display high standards of housekeeping.
    • Be well maintained.
    • Meet all Membership Standards and 70% of the Defining Characteristics of a B&B Inn, as described in Membership Standards & Criteria for B&B Inns.
    • Have no negative reports made about the inn to CABBI during application process.
    • Agree to distribute the CABBI Travel Guide to departing guests.
    • Display the Proud Member of CABBI logo at property and on web site and link to www.cabbi.com from web site.
    • Have a CABBI member in good standing recommend membership to CABBI.
    • Pass CABBI inspection within the first year of membership.

    CABBI property members receive exclusive CABBI Membership Benefits including special savings for a variety of hospitality industry products and services. All CABBI property members also receive CH&LA benefits and AH&LA benefits.

    Annual Dues:
    1-5 Rooms - $650
    6-10 Rooms - $725
    11+ Rooms - $795

    New Member Fees:
    $100 One-time certification/inspection fee

  2. Vendor Membership

    Vendors who provide high quality products and services to CABBI member inns. All CABBI Vendor members automatically receive all CH&LA Allied member benefits. Please click here for a complete summary of CABBI Vendor benefits.

    Annual Dues:

    Vendors: $395 annually includes links on the CABBI and CH&LA websites.

  3. Aspiring Innkeeper Membership

    Individuals considering or having an interest in the profession of innkeeping, who are not eligible for Regular Membership.
